Our Story - Purple Peepal

Purple Peepal draws its name from the Peepal tree (Ficus religiosa), a symbol of grounding, resilience, and quiet renewal. Paired with purple, representing creativity and depth, the name reflects our approach to design. Thoughtful transformations rooted in care, longevity, and expression.

Much like the Peepal tree offers shelter and continuity amid changing surroundings, our interiors are designed to ground people within the rhythms of everyday life. Calm yet expressive, rooted yet contemporary.

Meet the founder and principal architect…

Ankita Thaker

Ankita Thaker has been living in Zurich since 2010. Her love for design and architecture brought her to the Swiss federal Institute of Technology, ETH to pursue further studies.

She founded Purple Peepal, an Indo-Swiss inter-disciplinary architectural practice based in Zurich, integrating interior and exterior spaces, from large architectural undertakings to the finer furniture details.
